Bought a Truck, Started a Company

Well... I done went and did it!

I started my own trucking company.

Totally Tubular Transportation LLC. I bought my own truck and registered my company with the state and everything.

There are few main things that I will share with you.  Taking this huge step has been an emotional rollercoaster.  swinging back and forth from Joy and excitement to anxiety and worry. I have been triggered in many ways throughout this adventure.  As if buying a truck and setting up a company weren't enough, Corona Virus hit about two weeks after I had finalized everything.  And finally I will tell you all about my super cool truck.

It has been an emotional roller coaster. When I was buying the truck I didn’t have any doubts. A couple nights after I sent the down payment, I couldn’t sleep and woke up in a panic, wondering if I did the right thing. Taking all this on is a huge responsibility and comes with more concerns.  Driving someone else's truck is less worry because they assume all the responsibility, but you have significantly less earning potential.  All I know now, is that, so far, I’ve earned back my initial investment, and after I have crazy money in the bank I won’t think another sideways thought.

I finalized everything about two weeks before the corona virus hit America. So that has been a big concern, but fortunately I am considered “essential”. Bonus! So the chemical industry is going strong. So far so good. I know some other truck driving industries are slowing down. I was all like, “a fine time to buy a truck!!  I’m gonna make this work.”. Either the timing is horrible or perfect. If I had waited any longer the pandemic might have scared me into waiting a whole other year, and I needed to do this now. In one sense it couldn’t be better cause the traffic sure is nice. Lol. All civilians are on house arrest

feeling tough... the day i picked up my new truck

The model of truck i bought is called a Coronado. I thought that was a rather peculiar coincidence that it shares the root word with this virus. I choose to take it as a good omen. I can wax philosophical about it for pages making up all sorts of fun stories explaining the mystery of it all.

I can’t wait to personalize this truck giving it custom air brake knobs and a fancy 13 speed shifter

The main considerations I had when buying this truck is I wanted one with the classic style. Meaning a big huge square grill, big flat metal bumper, and mad stacks. Also it was important I was able to do yoga in the truck. I would’ve chosen a Peterbilt long hood but the seats are too close together and there is no room for yoga. I like to think of my truck as my pimp ass Himalayan cave on wheels. The caves in the Himalayan is where one would go to seek enlightenment
